Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs)
These mini dental screw-like implants are used to help anchor and hold/move your teeth in the right direction. Made of titanium alloy they remain in place for a couple of months to help your teeth adjust during the moving process. The TAD’s would be implanted in the bone of the jaw, they are easy to put in and to remove. They also help speed up the treatment process to get your dream smile. TAD’s don’t need elastic “rubber bands” and in most cases almost never need you to have any major oral surgeries. When having TAD’s implanted, they normally get added on when wearing traditional braces. It should also be pointed out that these anchorage devices may not be removed or discarded after treatment. Not until your orthodontics believes it is time to be removed. It is not for everyone, so talk to our orthodontist at Beam orthodontics to see if this option is right for you.
